1. About Us

Norway Travel Services (hereinafter "we", "us", or "the Company") is a professional travel intermediary service provider, offering customized travel services in Norway for tourists from China and around the world. We operate in accordance with the Norwegian Package Travel Act (Pakkereiseloven LOV-2018-06-15-32) and comply with all relevant Norwegian and EU laws and regulations.

2. Scope of Services

As a travel intermediary, we provide the following services:

  • Customized package travel planning and booking
  • Northern Lights tours
  • Fjord cruise experiences
  • Winter activities (skiing, dog sledding, etc.)
  • Accommodation, transportation, and dining arrangements
  • Norwegian cultural experiences

Important Notice: As an intermediary, we work with multiple certified third-party service providers, including but not limited to hotels, transportation companies, and tour activity operators. We do not directly provide tourism services but act on behalf of clients to contract with these suppliers.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Inquiry and Customization

Clients submit travel requirements through our website contact form, email, or phone. We will respond within 24 hours and provide a customized travel proposal and quotation based on your needs.

3.2 Confirmation and Payment

Once you accept our travel proposal, we will send a formal booking confirmation and payment link. Booking requires the following payments:

  • Deposit: 30% of the total travel price to confirm the booking
  • Balance: Remaining 70%, due 30 days before departure

Payment methods include credit card, debit card, and bank transfer. All payments are processed through secure payment gateways.

3.3 Booking Confirmation

Upon receipt of the deposit, we will send you a final booking confirmation containing all travel details, supplier information, emergency contacts, and travel insurance recommendations.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Price Includes

Unless otherwise stated, our package travel prices include:

  • All accommodation as specified in the booking confirmation
  • All transportation services as specified in the booking confirmation
  • All activities and tours as specified in the booking confirmation
  • Norwegian Value Added Tax (VAT)
  • Our service fees

4.2 Price Excludes

Unless specifically stated, the following costs are not included in the package travel price:

  • International flights to and from Norway
  • Travel insurance (strongly recommended)
  • Visa fees
  • Personal expenses (souvenirs, additional meals, etc.)
  • Gratuities
  • Any services not specified in the booking confirmation

4.3 Price Adjustments

In accordance with Section 14 of the Norwegian Package Travel Act, we reserve the right to adjust prices in the following circumstances:

  • Significant increases in fuel or energy costs
  • Changes in taxes or fees (such as tourism taxes, airport taxes)
  • Exchange rate fluctuations (e.g., NOK to CNY exchange rate changes exceeding 5%)

Price adjustments will be communicated to you at least 20 days before departure. If the price increase exceeds 8%, you have the right to cancel the booking and receive a full refund.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1 Client Cancellation

You have the right to cancel your booking at any time, but the following cancellation fees apply:

  • 60 days or more before departure: 10% of deposit deducted as administrative fee, 90% of deposit refunded
  • 59-30 days before departure: 50% of deposit deducted
  • 29-15 days before departure: 50% of total travel price deducted
  • 14-7 days before departure: 75% of total travel price deducted
  • 6 days or less before departure: No refund

Important Note: Certain services (such as special activities, private charters) may have stricter cancellation policies, which will be specified in the booking confirmation.

5.2 Our Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel travel in the following circumstances:

  • Minimum number of participants not met (if applicable)
  • Force majeure circumstances (see Section 9)
  • Significant safety risks

If we cancel the travel, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule or choose an alternative travel package. We are not liable for other costs incurred due to cancellation (such as purchased flights).

5.3 Refund Processing

All refunds will be processed within 14 business days of cancellation confirmation and will be returned to the original payment method.

6. Itinerary Changes

6.1 Client-Requested Changes

If you wish to change travel dates, accommodation, or activities after booking confirmation, please notify us as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but the following fees may apply:

  • Administrative fee: NOK 500 per change
  • Any additional fees or price differences charged by suppliers

Change requests are not accepted within 7 days of departure.

6.2 Changes Initiated by Us

In accordance with Section 13 of the Norwegian Package Travel Act, if we need to make significant changes to the travel package before departure, we will immediately notify you and provide the following options:

  • Accept the modified travel package
  • Choose an alternative travel package of equal or higher value (at no additional cost)
  • Cancel the booking and receive a full refund

If the change results in a reduction in travel quality, you are entitled to a corresponding price reduction.

7. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance, including but not limited to:

  • Trip cancellation insurance
  • Medical and emergency medical evacuation insurance
  • Baggage loss or delay insurance
  • Personal liability insurance
  • Trip interruption insurance

We do not provide travel insurance but can recommend reputable insurance companies. Please note that certain activities (such as skiing, dog sledding) may require additional sports insurance.

Important Note: If you need to cancel your trip for personal reasons (illness, family emergency, etc.), our standard cancellation policy still applies. Travel insurance can help reduce your financial loss.

8. Liability and Obligations

8.1 Our Liability

In accordance with Sections 18-21 of the Norwegian Package Travel Act, we are liable for:

  • Travel services not provided as described in the booking confirmation
  • Losses caused by our negligence or fault
  • Failure of third-party suppliers to fulfill contractual obligations

Limitation of Liability:

  • Our maximum liability is limited to three times the total package travel price
  • We are not liable for indirect losses (such as lost wages, emotional distress)
  • We are not liable for force majeure circumstances (see Section 9)
  • We are not liable for losses caused by the client's own fault

8.2 Third-Party Supplier Liability

We work with multiple third-party suppliers, including hotels, transportation companies, and activity operators. While we carefully select our partners, we do not directly control their operations.

Under Norwegian law, we bear joint liability for the service quality of third-party suppliers, except in the following circumstances:

  • Supplier bankruptcy or insolvency (we have purchased travel guarantees to protect your rights)
  • Supplier unable to provide services due to force majeure
  • Additional agreements reached directly between the client and the supplier

8.3 Client Responsibilities

As a client, you have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and complete personal information (name, passport details, contact information, etc.)
  • Ensure you hold valid travel documents (passport, visa)
  • Comply with Norwegian laws and local customs
  • Arrive at meeting points on time
  • Follow supplier safety regulations and terms of use
  • Promptly notify us of any issues or complaints
  • Take reasonable measures to minimize losses

9. Force Majeure

In accordance with Section 8(i) of the Norwegian Package Travel Act, "force majeure" refers to a situation beyond the control of the invoking party, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.

Force majeure circumstances include but are not limited to:

  • Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, blizzards, avalanches, etc.)
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest
  • Government orders or travel restrictions
  • Epidemics or public health emergencies
  • Strikes or labor disputes (excluding our own employees)
  • Major failures of transportation systems
  • Extreme weather conditions

In force majeure circumstances:

  • Both parties are relieved of liability for failure to perform the contract
  • You have the right to cancel the booking and receive a refund (less non-refundable costs already incurred)
  • We will do our best to assist you in rescheduling travel or providing alternative solutions
  • We are not liable for additional costs caused by force majeure (such as extra accommodation, flight changes, etc.)

COVID-19 Special Note: If travel is impossible due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions or quarantine requirements, it will be handled under force majeure clauses. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that includes pandemic coverage.

10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

10.1 Complaints During Travel

If you encounter any problems during your trip, please immediately contact our emergency contact (contact details will be provided in the booking confirmation). We will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Important: In accordance with Section 19 of the Norwegian Package Travel Act, you must notify us of any service deficiencies within a reasonable time, otherwise it may affect your claim rights.

10.2 Post-Travel Complaints

If you have any complaints after your trip, please notify us in writing via email ([email protected]) within 1 month of the end of your trip, providing the following information:

  • Booking confirmation number
  • Detailed description of the problem
  • Relevant evidence (photos, receipts, witness statements, etc.)
  • Your expected resolution

We will respond within 14 days of receiving the complaint and do our best to resolve the issue within 30 days.

10.3 Dispute Resolution

If we cannot resolve the dispute through negotiation, you can:

  • Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet): Free consumer advice and mediation services
  • Travel Complaints Board (Reklamasjonsnemnda for Reise): Independent body specializing in travel-related disputes
  • Court Litigation: File a lawsuit in Norwegian courts

Under Norwegian law, this contract is governed by Norwegian law, and disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts.

11. Travel Guarantee

In accordance with Chapter 8 of the Norwegian Package Travel Act, all companies offering package travel must provide a travel guarantee to the Norwegian Travel Guarantee Fund (Reisegarantifondet).

What this means:

  • If we go bankrupt or become insolvent, your paid funds will be protected
  • If the trip has already started, your return transportation and necessary accommodation costs will be covered
  • You can apply for a refund through the Norwegian Travel Guarantee Fund

12. Visa and Travel Documents

Chinese citizens require a Schengen visa to travel to Norway.

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • You hold a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of your trip
  • You obtain a valid Schengen visa
  • You meet Norwegian entry requirements

We can provide travel confirmation letters and itineraries required for visa applications, but we are not responsible for visa application results. If your visa is denied, our standard cancellation policy will apply.

Recommendation: Purchase travel insurance that includes visa denial coverage before receiving visa approval.

13. Health and Safety

13.1 Health Requirements

Norway currently has no mandatory vaccination requirements. However, we recommend that you:

  • Ensure routine vaccinations are up to date
  • If you have chronic illnesses, bring sufficient medication and a doctor's certificate
  • Inform us of any health conditions that may affect your travel

13.2 Safety Information

Norway is a very safe country, but please note:

  • Winter activities (skiing, snowmobiling) carry certain risks; please follow safety guidelines
  • Norwegian weather is changeable; bring appropriate clothing
  • Arctic regions experience polar night in winter and midnight sun in summer; be mentally prepared
  • Wildlife (moose, reindeer) may appear on roads; drive carefully

13.3 Special Needs

If you have any of the following special needs, please inform us at the time of booking:

  • Mobility impairments or wheelchair requirements
  • Dietary restrictions (vegetarian, halal, allergies, etc.)
  • Pregnancy
  • Need for special medical equipment

We will do our best to accommodate your needs, but certain activities may not be suitable for everyone.

14. Data Protection

We process your personal information in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Norwegian data protection laws. For detailed information, please refer to our .

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this website and will take effect 30 days after posting.

For confirmed bookings, the Terms & Conditions in effect at the time of booking will apply.
